Our Lady Vikes Gaining Momentum

by Alan Hall

Tuesday night was a great win for our lady Vikings. Ironically, it was against the Vikings of Augustana. Our ladies won by thirteen and the final score was 77 – 64. This win came because of some great efforts made by many of our ladies. Six of our ladies played over 20 minutes, two of them playing almost the entire game. In the first half they shot well over fifty percent from the field, and stayed close to that average until the end of the game. Kamauria Acree had a team high of 22 points. Lindsey Thompson had three blocks and three steals to help in the win.

The ladies are playing really well, and it comes at the perfect time. They only have one more chance to play each conference opponent in the regular season.  That means they have a grand total of five games to continue their winning streak. One of the biggest games left comes this Saturday at Wheaton College. The Thunder are one seat ahead of us in the C.C.I.W. standings. So if this was a rough rivalry before, it seems the water has just become a little more troubled. If you can make it out to Wheaton College they have the 7:30 game. The next home game they have is this coming Tuesday against North Central. Good luck Lady Vikes!
